There's quite a few Hotels in Llangollen now but if you can cope with the stairs at the Hand then this really has everything. The outside decking sells this straight away along with the live music, the big rooms, buffet breakfast, great carpark and the service. All bedrooms are upstairs and some of the stairways are quite steep but it's worth it especially if you get views over the river. The decking with it's own bar overlooking the river is amazing especially on a Saturday afternoon with the sun out.Right in the town centre it's well worth a look.Just been taken over but still has the same old staff on,lts great.

After reading some of the reviews before booking we weren't expecting anything special, however we were very pleasantly surprised. The location is as central as you can be, it is an historic building so don't expect new buildings standards however it is spotless everywhere. The buffet breakfast was fresh and piping hot, with a good continental breakfast selection too. The bedrooms were a good size with good size spotless bathroom. The food served throughout the day was reasonably priced and good quality. All of the very friendly and accommodating staff make the stay extra special. Excellent price for a room, breakfast and parking deal direct with the hotel. Don't always take notice of the negative reviews, we would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here recently for my anniversary. The rooms are adequate but dated, the location is ideal and the general atmosphere in the bar area was lovely. The food & drink prices however are a bit high compared to other pubs we visited in the area. From this location you can visit everything this town has to offer very easily. I'd also like to give a special mention to a gentleman who I believe was called Johnny who couldn't do enough for us. He was the only staff member who didn't act like he was being forced to be there and was friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, and a great location with free parking. The room we stayed in did show its age slightly, but was comfortable, quiet and everything worked. The price was reasonable. Overall - would definitely stay here again. Recommended!
